Memorial Day in our nation's capital is the perfect location to work on short form multimedia pieces during this exiting workshop. Washington, D.C. offers a historical setting filled with the thunderous rumble of motorcycle rallies, parades, and concerts and fills the streets with colorful characters and solemn remembrances.

Developing multimedia skills will be the focus of this intensive 3-day workshop. Students will choose whether they wish to work on audio or video production. Hands-on instruction in recording audio or video will produce a short multimedia piece on a topic relating to the weekend's events.

An enjoyable and affordable alternative to longer, more intensive workshops, Momenta's weekend adventures specialize in short, concentrated, educational programs with skill development in visually rich locations. We spend time reviewing portfolios to assess individual capabilities, and then put students into environments to shoot intensively for an entire day while being mentored.

The workshop fees include daily one-on-one access to an instructor, personalized portfolio reviews, all handouts and workshop materials, daily slideshows and lectures, software and equipment training, a weekend long Metro pass, and daily continental breakfast. We have arranged special rates with area hotels, but students are free to arrange their own housing and transportation to the workshop, that fits within their budget. Momenta Workshops also offers to make all arrangements for you at an additional fee. Please contact our staff (link to contact page) for more information.

Important Workshop Notes: Students must bring their own equipment, including laptop with Final Cut Express, cameras and software. An online downloadable trial version of Photo Mechanic is available for all our students and can be purchased at a discounted rate. We also recommend Audacity and Soundslides for our audio students. Please contact us for more information.
