About Our Program
Multimedia audio and video skills are becoming more and more necessary in the documentary industry. Clients from nonprofits to editorial to corporate are expecting photographers to know how to produce audio slideshows and short videos. But where do you begin with so much to learn? Big classroom lectures and software training only scratch the surface. You need to learn from a pro how to use the gear you have to get the results you want.
Momenta can help get you started on the right foot. Our training program offers you a tested and trusted understanding of the fundamental skills to get you producing video and audio slideshows in just a few hours. Likewise, we can offer you the building blocks and skills to start you off on the right foot for your future work in multimedia. With a customized training schedule based solely around your professional needs, we will create a very personal, very specific training session that is uniquely your own.
We will select the best multimedia instructor from our team, based on your style and professional needs. After your initial consultation with our staff, we will begin to schedule your private instruction session either in your home city or in Washington, DC. The instructor and our staff will work with you before, during and after your instruction to help answer your questions, get you prepared to shoot on your own and help you troubleshoot down the road.
Our Instructors
Our instructors are literally some of the best in the industry. Our team producers and instructors have been awarded with Emmy, POYi, NPPA and World Press laudations. Their work has been seen on major news organizations, print and online productions from National Geographic to NPR to The Washington Post and The New York Times. We are very lucky to have such amazing talent on our team and we are so pleased to be able to offer this service to our clients.
Equipment
VIDEO: If you don't have a professional video kit or an HDSLR, our instructors can bring their own HDSLR, lenses and technical equipment for you to use during your instructional session.
AUDIO: If you just want to learn audio multimedia, we can provide you with an audio kit including a recorder, microphone and SD cards for your instructional session.
Our staff and instructors can offer you recommendations on the proper professional gear to invest in and help you understand the nuances of the many types of equipment. We recommend you purchase and install Final Cut Express or Pro onto your laptop for this training session. If you are not ready to take that step, we can work with the instructors equipment for software training and production. Should you choose to use your own equipment, during your session, we will help you install and customize your software's preferences and set up your personal gear for the best productivity with multimedia production.
